The Full Circle
Winning Both the Peace and the War
Who would I defeat?
I meet you as a friend, and I'm only reminded of my faults.
I meet you as an enemy, and find fualt in myself.
I meet you as my love, and know that there are no enemies in the world to defeat but myself.
What I have is yours in a way.
Why do I fight you? Who have I to defeat?
Your Fortune Mine
Should you suffer, I suffer.
Should you find joy, my joy is with you.
I find you well though memory of yourself has faded.
I remember you my friend, please find yourself again.
As we heal each other, with kind words and truthful knowing we are one.
Where I have been your light has always guided me. Where I am you will always be, forever greatful and yours.
In the Age of Peace
The Piaget Cognitive Development Model
The stages of development consist of Pre-operational, Concrete (onset), Concrete (mature), Formal (onset), and Formal
(mature.) The basis of our learning becomes stronger with a solid foundation of the facts of history, guidance of faith and
the virtue kept constant within a value system.
How does one rehabilitate a cognitively developed person or people?
When voluntarily taking on the role of those one has defeated or trifled with the intent to re-discover yourself, a cognitively
developed person is able to rehabilitate yourself. Success of rehabilitation is determined by the degree in which behavioral
changes and changes in logic have taken hold. It is best to participate in introspective development/cognition and defeat
(or balance) oneself before being and in efforts toward the prevention of being defeated by someone else.
Today we have the tools to be able to suffer our own demons, vices and market flaws. No one else need bare the blame.
To those in development circles, 9/11 was a sure sign that the cause of poverty needs to be addressed. Introspective
cognition on behalf of the offended community would have lead to peace internationally. The related disaster of the tsunami
in Asia elicited the response desired after realizing that our immortality of a great nation is limited. In this democracy
the defense of our laws, rules and regulation provides the market corrections necessary to insure that justice prevails.
Let each of have the courage to lead in this respect and not follow.
My prayers go to you and yours, your leadership and to those whom you find quarrel with. Be kind to others as you are
to yourself. Be safe.
Today I Stand United
I have observed many different ethnicities interacting
together without considering that there were other
forces in place that would prevent fairness.
As in the game Tetris, where there are many layers
with various colors and shapes, once there is a
completed layer of blocks that completed layer folds
into the layer under neath it.
When in society, there are numerous cases of abuse and
neglect in government, racist and religious fanaticism
is folded into the elements of society that are of
past mistakes never to be repeated again. These
elements are extracted from a developed society that
is able to function in a glocalized world and are
rendered harmless when effort is made to acknowledge
and treat them.
Having come full circle where no further development
of land or technology is necessary, it is unacceptable
to ignore, neglect and find further punative measures
to sustain abuse of living beings.
Time to Heal, Time for Peace
It has been said that when the market is flooded with anybody's money, the shoe-shine person's money to the world's wealthiest,
it's time to get out of the market.
The world today is filled with bad apples trying to make good the wrong way. Once shunned citizens of the western world,
coming into their own in the dawn of the age of globalization may not be doomed to repeat the mistakes of their countrymen--or
will they?
Anyone looking over my shoulder and asking themselves how they can use me to the benefit of the English speaking western
world doesn't know where their head is. The Western world would benefit most from doing good for good rather than continuing
a easily forgotten cycle of abuse and neglect it erroneously perpetuated in centuries past. This is the new millennium after
all.
I love the West, I love and have reveled in the heritage to the point of being reborn, but as I assume to find balance
in the world I find the world's focus needs more of the East. Concerns for the East should not be neglected. It may be money
that may help, but what has money brought the West and their troubles? Time and time again, it is proven that the change
of leadership, the change of direction from war to peace, from grievance to reconcilliation, does more to heal and help world
issuses--a struggle to find balance in all things and pursuits produces a greater perspective for all concerned, children,
adults and the elderly alike.
Why not a change in economic and political focus? It is not for the West to solve the problems of the West and the East
to solve the problems of the East. Was it not the cooperative effort of all nations that brought the West to prominence?
What of the East?
What of the law-abiding, whether the it be the law of a Lord, God or President, the faithful have follwed it to the letter
if not the spirit. What of their promise? What of their hope and thier work? Where is their respite, glory and time in this
world?
I believe thier time is now.
On Cultural Imperialism:
"When an advanced society sends out its cultural messages and vibrations to other societies, whether nearby or further
afield, it usually does not have a one way effect. The result is more complicated. I have three brief thoughts about the
effects of Western pop culture. First, it obviously influence people across the globe, particularly the young. MTV, youth
culture, Hollywood, blue jeans, and the yearning to learn the English language have an impact on the youth of other cultures.
There is a very broad generational transmission not only of pop music jungles but also of cultural assumptions and ideas
about roles and styles.
But, secondly, it also produces backlashes among the leadership of other countries. Think of the predominance of French
culture in late seventeenth and eighteenth century Europe. Every other society felt it had to decorate itself in the French
style, speak French at home, have French chateaus built, and so on, and the French thought this was great. Their country
was the center of the world. The Sun King ruled over everything. But what this did, in fact, was to produce over time intense
cultural backlashes in Prussia, other German states, and England against this overwhelming Francophone presence.
Today, a part of the reason that the Ayatollahs and French intellectuals attack the United States is that they think our
culture is corrupting their youth. In response, the Iranians finance counter-cultural forces in Egypt through the Arab Brotherhood,
which brings young men and women from their unemployed positions on the streets and indoctrinates them in mosques and schools
against America's cultural influence.
My third and observation is that it seems unlikely that we can stoop the spread of American culture. CNN is everywhere
and MTV is dangerously close to getting everywhere. The negative aspect for us is an imbalance of the culture flows and language
flows, and as a result, we too are losers. They get our culture twenty-four hours a day, while we get little of theirs unless
we travel abroad, live abroad, and learn a language abroad. We are deprived of enjoying the richness and different ways of
looking at things of other cultures. We limit ourselves culturally by thinking of a future world that would just be a Hollywood
world or blue jeans world. We need the richness of other societies and cultures to be wiser world citizens. The world and
we are better with a more balanced exchange of worldviews, skills, and cultures."
Excerpt from Democracy, Morality, and the Search for Peace in America's Foreign Policy
We are nothing if we have not the ability to learn from the past and in America's unique mandate, to create our own history.
There are those on one side of the Pacific who live war every day, and there are those on the other side of the Pacific who
just have corn flakes.
I am blessed with being an American and having such wonderful mentors, but my heart cries out for a sign of hope from
abroad as nations cry out for healing.
In my efforts to help in part out of guilt and in part out of prevention, I strain to hear the voices of the future generations
of leaders. I hope to know and to learn from their concerns, issues, hardships and follies.
There is no power that reigns supreme to the exclusion of all others. Nationalism as glocalized is safe. To those who
rule justly, the end game is not the goal.
The limited in sight look toward the end game while all others look toward Peace, Healing and Attonement. It is not for
the just to brag or show that they are justified in their rule by acknowledging their own kind. The just rules in the world
in acts of benevolence, generosity, compassion and in the grace that is divine without threats, with Love, Faith and not power.
